Green Economy: not only greener, but different
In light of the grave social and ecological crisis phenomena that we are facing – climate change, financial crises, poverty, and dwindling resources – the concept of a “green economy” was declared to be a central instrument of sustainable development. Yet, this notion has been found to be seriously lacking when it comes to making the necessary linkages between economic, environmental and social aspects in research, politics and economics, as well the inclusion of a gender perspective.
Therefore the project “Green Economy gender_just” was implemented, pointing out to our very different and more far-reaching definition of Green Economy. This project was followed by more specific ones: at the “International Workshop: Green Economy and Green Growth: Who Cares?” we did a first step to develop a common position with women’s organizations from different regions of the world. The project “Care, Gender and Green Economy (CaGE)” identified research gaps and gaps in (gender) equity in a sustainable economy.
The following projects on Gender, Care and Green Economy were realized over the past years:
2011 - 2013 Green Economy gender_just
2012 - 2013 Green Economy and Green Growth: Who Cares? International Workshop
as well as the current project FrauenUNTERNEHMEN Green Economy
